78 rpm is a good speed for a zoetrope - (33 and 45 not so much) - so when playing a record together with the animation - it can be an ancient shellac 78 like this one, or you can get a custom 78 cut at http://www.cuttinggrooves.co.uk/

Turntable kits are the entry level 4-Mation 3D zoetrope kits, and combine with record players running at 78rpm to play an animation. Although you can use any turntable you like spinning at a constant speed, just set the strobe timing in the app.

The record is "Love Letters in the Sand" by Pat Boone. A Shellac 78, it's so heavy! and still sounds great though it's almost 60 years old.

The turntable in this video was £30 on ebay, and the 78 rpm record was £5.
