The situation has rapidly deteriorated in Bangladesh following the killing of youth leader Sharif Usman Hadi and Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das. Visa services have been suspended, and questions are being raised about the security of embassies. US Special Envoy Sergio Gor spoke with Bangladesh's Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus over the phone. During the call, Yunus reiterated his commitment to holding general elections.

UN महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटेरेस के प्रवक्ता स्टीफन दुजारिक बोले बांग्लादेश की स्थिति पर फिक्रमंद हैं. बांग्लादेश में जो हिंसा देखी है उससे हम चिंतित हैं. बांग्लादेश की सरकार से अपील करते हैं कि हर किसी की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित की जाए, फिर चाहे वह किसी भी धर्म का हो. बांग्लादेश में युवा नेता शरीफ उस्मान हादी की हत्या और हिंदू युवक दीपू चंद्र दास की हत्या के बाद हालात तेजी से बिगड़े हैं. वीजा सेवाएं निलंबित हैं, दूतावासों की सुरक्षा पर सवाल उठ रहे हैं. अमेरिकी विशेष दूत सर्जियो गोर ने बांग्लादेश के मुख्य सलाहकार मोहम्मद यूनुस से फोन पर चर्चा की. इस दौरान यूनुस ने आम चुनाव कराने की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई.
