Gaura Purnima & Phulon ki Holi 2025 | The Advent of Lord Chaitanya | HKM Mumbai

It was a full moon blossoming in the night sky like a jasmine bud, as 2000 residents of Powai gathered at Hiranandani Lawns to celebrate "Phlulon Ki Holi" and "Gaura Purnima," the auspicious appearance day of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, an incarnation of Lord Krishna. The event was organized by the ‘Hare Krishna Movement (HKM) – Mumbai’.

The program commenced with the recitation of invocation prayers. As the venue, beautifully decorated with fairy lights and flowers, teemed with enthusiastic attendees, the satin curtains onstage parted, revealing the magnificent forms of Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga.

After taking darshans of the deities, various pastimes of the Lord were narrated, which were relished by all. 56 varieties of delicacies were offered to Their Lordships, which were later distributed to devotees present as Prasad. A special talk was delivered by His Grace Amitasana Prabhu, President of HKM Mumbai and Jaipur.

‘Maha-abhishekam,' the grand ceremonial bath of Their Lordships, was performed, where the deities were bathed with 'panchamrita' (milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sweet water) as well as varieties of fruit juices and different flower petals. Every drop of this Nectarian offering was collected and distributed to all as 'Charan amrita.' Ecstatic kirtans were sung throughout the festival, and devotees danced along!

Then occurred the most awaited event! This was the 'Palaki Utsav' along with ‘Phulon ki Holi,’ a festival where Their Lordships are seated on a resplendent palanquin and paraded across the venue, as thousands of people eagerly flocked, showering Them with flowers. Lip-smacking dinner prasadam was served to all the attendees, and the grand celebration concluded.
