6th Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Lecture was held by India Foundation on Wednesday, 26 December. It was addressed by former Chief of Army Staff General VP Malik (Retd), Former Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal and Suresh Prabhu, Chairman, Governing Council India Foundation. Addressing the gathering Kanwal Sibal said that during 2003 America’s invasion on Iraq, India faced lot of pressers from USA to deploy troops in Middle East. He added ‘we were very wise’ by not getting involved in Iraq invasion ‘ and the credit goes to Former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee.
Recalling the mounting casualties during Kargil war, General VP Malik (Retd) said Vajpayee sanctioned ‘every bit’ for the compensation for fallen soldiers in Kargil war War.
