Dr. K. Kasturirangan, an eminent member of the science community, a space scientist who once headed the ISRO and now a member of the Planning Commission of Government of India talks about the Indian Space Programme and 'touching the Moon'. He also shares his early inspirations and the things that fascinated him: ideas, original thinking in the areas of science, and a curious outlook. He believes that one needs to have a curiosity which can be satisfied only when you delve deeper into things.
In his younger years, he was looking for an opportunity to get into astronomy to satisfy his childhood curiosity and his desire to seek answers. He got an opportunity to realise his dream when after responding to a 'small' advertisement seeking research scholars for a laboratory which was run by Mr. Vikram Sarabhai, he was shortlisted, interviewed and finally selected. Mr. Sarabhai took him under his fold and also shared that he was in the process on evolving a program for India which would send one to space.
