Miami Dolphins GM Chris Grier made it abundantly clear, the team intends to trade Jalen Ramsey. It is in the best interest of both parties. The superstar CB wants to play for a contender, but he shook things up when he reposted a video of Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.
“Coach E is one of them REAL ball coaches! Will be a head coach one day. Nothing but respect,” writes Ramsey.
Dan Morgan has been conservative this offseason. The front office has been preserving cap space. Trading for the 30-year old cornerback may not seem likely, but his former coach has influence.
Ramsey earned All-Pro honors and won a Super Bowl playing in Evero’s scheme while in Los Angeles. Since joining Carolina, Evero has vouched for a number of his former players. In fact, four projected starters across the Panthers defense are players he used to coach, three are former Rams.
The $24 million guaranteed to Ramsey in 2025 might be a tough pill for the Panthers to swallow, along with any precious draft capital they might have to sacrifice. Still, this move would greatly improve the odds the Panthers have at winning the NFC South.
