The Blue Grotto: Capri, Italy: Is it worth the hype?

Join me as I dive into a full and honest review of the iconic Blue Grotto in Anacapri, Italy! From the breathtaking views to the reality of the experience (and the cost!), I’ll share everything you need to know before visiting. Is it worth the hype? Watch now to find out!

✨THINGS TO NOTE:✨

This excursion is VERY popular! You need to plan accordingly, it took us 3 visits before we got in and it also depends on the water some days it may be closed due to the choppiness.
Take dretamine if you get nauseous the water is rough
Cost: 18 euros each
You get in the boat with other people depending on the weight and how many ppl there are , not sure if they do private but you can probably ask.
Don’t bring stuff with you, saw some people leave bags and pick them up at the bottom of the stairs but I would not recommend.
Wear a bathing suit or something you don’t mind getting wet because the boat can be a bit wet and dirty when you sit and lay down don’t wear white... trust me!
If your taking the bus, be the first to get off that bus and RUN down so you don’t have to wait for everyone that’s about to get on line.
It’s better to do it by bus or walking because it’s cheaper… by boat your paying twice basically if you go from a tour trip.

Ways to get to the Grotto:

Option 1: You will need Google maps, free.99 walking 30-45 min from Anacapri center… it’s a hike and hard on the knees so just be ready but it is a nice stroll if you want to be in nature for a bit.

Option 2: Bus from Anacapri, 2.40 euros one way 10-15 min ride , tickets can purchased on the bus or bus station but it’s easier to buy at the booth because the buses get packed quickly. We went on Sunday around 11am not a big line.

Option 3: Boat ride around the island that can take you directly and you wait on the boat in the water, 23 euros for an entire island tour and if they can wait they will. If not, they will finish the tour and bring the people who want to go to the grotto back on a free transfer. This is just so much longer and tedious… we went on a Saturday around 12pm. Beyond PACKED to wait for the grotto on boat ride was about 2-3 hour wait.
