Progress update on construction of new high speed line - the area between the Colne Valley Viaduct and the Northolt Tunnel West Portal.
Nearly 3 months since i last visited ..the embankments are a little higher and there's a new culvert built.
TBMs Sushila and Caroline are tunnelling 8km towards Green Park Way ventilation shaft, Greenford.
Sushila has almost reached her destination and TBM Caroline has about a mile to go.
Material from the tunneling is moved by conveyor system to a temporary processing/treatment centre and then reused for local earthworks/landscaping.. eg HS2 Northern Sustainable Placement Area.
The 2 completed bridges adjacent to Chiltern mainline are Breakspear Road South Underbridge and River Pinn Underbridge.
