In previous videos, I focused on optimizing curves and keys. Now, I'm moving beyond just JSON data to handle assets and texture atlases.
The standard workflow for modifying Spine atlases usually involves too many manual steps: unpack, compress/resize, repack, and verify. It becomes tedious very quickly.
In this experiment, I introduce Atlas Unpacker and Atlas Repacker nodes.
Key Features Demonstrated:
Repacking: unpack and repack atlases within the node graph.
Selective Scaling: using the non-linear pipeline (from Experiment #5), I demonstrate how to split the asset stream. For example, keeping character assets at 100% scale while downsizing some assets to 25%, and then merging them back into a single shared atlas.
Visual Preview: Atlas and Asset Viewer nodes allow you to inspect the packed textures and individual sprites at any stage of the pipeline.
While this is still a prototype, it demonstrates how a node-based approach can simplify complex texture management tasks. You can build a complex chain once and save it as a template for future use.
