Zelda BOTW Saas Ko’sah Shrine: How to Beat the Major Test of Strength & Get Spirit Orb

Saas Ko’sah Shrine Walkthrough (A Major Test of Strength)
Location:
Saas Ko’sah Shrine is hidden in the Docks beneath Hyrule Castle. To access it, enter the castle from the north, gliding toward the dock entrance in the cliff. Proceed through the docks, defeating or avoiding enemies, and head up the stairs. In the dock’s library area, use Magnesis to find and move a fake bookshelf, revealing a hidden chamber. Inside, light the large unlit brazier (using a torch, fire arrow, or any flame weapon) to make the shrine appear.
Inside the Shrine: A Major Test of Strength
1. Prepare for Battle
• This shrine is a combat challenge against a Guardian Scout IV (3,000 HP), the strongest type of Guardian Scout.
• Recommended: Bring your best weapons, upgraded armor, plenty of healing items, and attack-boosting food or elixirs.
2. Combat Phases
• Opening Attacks:
The Guardian uses rapid melee attacks and spinning charges. Dodge or block these attacks, then counterattack. Perfect Dodge and Flurry Rush are very effective.
• Spinning Charge:
When the Guardian jumps back and begins spinning, use Magnesis to pull up a metal block from the floor and position it between you and the Scout. The Guardian will crash into it and become stunned, giving you an opening to attack.
• Laser Spin:
At half health, the Guardian spins in place, firing a continuous laser in a circle. This creates an updraft—use your paraglider to ride the wind, then drop down for aerial attacks. Shooting its eye with arrows is also effective.
• Final Phase:
At low health, the Guardian charges up and fires four consecutive laser blasts. Dodge these beams, then rush in to attack while it recharges. Repeat until defeated.
3. Rewards
• After defeating the Guardian Scout IV, collect its powerful weapons (Ancient Battle Axe++, Guardian Sword++, Guardian Spear++) and ancient materials.
• Open the chest near the altar for a Flameblade.
• Speak to Monk Saas Ko’sah to receive your Spirit Orb.
Tips
• Use Guardian Shields for better defense against the Guardian’s attacks.
• The metal blocks in the arena are crucial for blocking spinning charges and providing cover.
• Stock up on arrows for targeting the Guardian’s eye during laser phases.
