In 2001, TV Patrol anchor Noli De Castro decided to run for senator of the Philippines. News executives of ABS-CBN needed to find his successor. After much deliberation, they selected (anointed?) Korina Sanchez as anchor, together with Henry Omaga Diaz and Aljo Bendijo who served as her co-anchors. As she assumed the position of anchor, ABS-CBN also appointed her as Chief Correspondent of the network. She was anchor from 2001 to 2004, returning in 2010 to anchor with Noli De Castro and Ted Failon.
With no available clean audio of the TV Patrol 2001 Theme, which was the Korina Sanchez era, we decided to concoct our version. Hay, ABS-CBN. Hahaha. :-)
Korina covers the news, and she is occasionally a newsmaker herself. Love her or love her a lot, it was the end of an era when La Koring left ABS-CBN News. Here is a tribute to Korina Sanchez.
