Ouerdia(Wardia) Aissaoui was born in 1963, she arrived in the artistic world at the beginning of the 1980s. A situation where, indeed, you have to be at the top to establish yourself on the Kabyle artistic scene. Orphaned by her father at a young age, originally from a village near Aïn El Hammam in the wilaya of Tizi-Ouzou, she has always lived in the locality of Aïn Taya. She began by recording a few songs on the radio and made mostly duets with the great singer Thanina or with Oumoussa but her name only came out of anonymity at the beginning of the 90s with notably the legendary song of Amar Azzouz "Tamghra n Da Lhocie" which had been a hit covered in all the festivals in Kabylie and in emigration. As a reminder, Ouardia Aissaoui was discovered on the occasion of the show "Nouva El Foroh" by the famous Mohamed Belhanafi on Channel II in 1983. Ouardia, who masters several musical genres ranging from oriental to western through Hawzi, devoted herself to urar, a Kabyle genre inspired by folklore, and then preferred to host family celebrations to the detriment of public galas.
Kabyle music is a part of the Kabyle identity and culture in Algeria . The traditional music of Kabylie is achewiq .
Kabyle music and artists enjoy a certain influence in North Africa , and even in the Arab world for songs performed in the Arab-Andalusian register . Thus the Chaouis in Algeria and the Chleuhs in Morocco understand and listen to the music of Kabylie and Arabic speakers in Morocco , Tunisia or Libya listen to Algerian chaâbi .
