Thante Sungte Hmar is a talented singer and entertainer who is especially well-known in Mizoram and Manipur. He hails from Tinsuong Village, Pherzawl District, Manipur. He is the only son in a family of eight members and the sole breadwinner of the household.
He first gained recognition among netizens through Instagram, where he regularly posted singing videos. In these, he covered songs in different languages requested by his followers, often performing without instrumental backing or with simple background tracks. His enthusiasm and passion for music quickly spread across social media, and many of his videos went viral on various platforms.
So far, he has released three singles, each published on the YouTube channels of the respective song producers. At present, he resides in Tuithaphai (Churachandpur), where he works as a houseman to support his siblings and family. Despite not having formal education or a stable source of income, he always ensures that food is on the table for his family.
Though at times people have made him uncomfortable because of his appearance and actions, he continues to live life to the fullest with positivity and resilience. He and his sisters have stood together through hardships, including their parents' divorce. Aware of his responsibility, he has remained strong and determined for the sake of his sisters. Even now, he continues to strive for better opportunities and waits patiently for things to improve for himself and his family.
