The Versova Koli Seafood Festival was initiated in 2006 at Versova Koliwada Village, Mumbai.
The festival is a Fish Lover’s Paradise with 30-40 authentic Koli Seafood stalls serving fresh seafood at very reasonable prices
The festival takes place every year in the 2nd and 3rd week of January.
Every year approximately 20,000 to 30,000 people visit this festival every day and enjoy the sea food and Koli themed cultural programmes.
Over 1500 Koli women dress up in their traditional attire and participate in the festival.
Not just Sea Food and Fishes the entire atmosphere around the festival reflects the Koli Community Culture with Dance, Songs, Stage Programs, Fun Fair besides the main attraction – Fresh Sea Food.
Highly recommended for some lip-smacking Sea Food and some authentic Koli-ness experience.
The entry to the festival is free and it gets packed as the sun sets with people finishing their day and come by to relax and indulge in Sea Food.
Fish vendors collects approximately 1 ton of fresh fish for this festival where you can enjoy more than 15-20 different varieties of fresh water fish and crabs.
King Prawns, Prawns, Lobsters, Crabs, Bombay Duck, Pompfret, Tuna, Surmai, Mackerel, Basa, Shellfish.. you name it and you'll have it served.
