Bangkok, Thailand Travel Guide

Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is a large city known for ornate shrines and vibrant street life.
Places I've chosen to visit on my trip:
1. Platinum Mall: Wholesale Vendor Market, Largest Wholesale Mall in Thailand. (Great spot to purchase souvenirs) Bring Bhat/Cash for easy transactions.
2. The Grand Palace, Royal Theater : Has the famous emerald buddha on display, and has beautiful palace grounds with stunning architecture and vibrant colors and craftsmanship, there is a 20 minute show that is included in your 500 BHAT ticket into the Grand Palace. There is a complimentary shuttle bus that takes you to the Royal Theater 7 minutes away from the Palace.
3. Wat Arun is THE most popular tourist location in Bangkok
4. The BEST Malls and Food Falls in Bangkok : ICONSIAM, SIAM PARAGON. Absolutely gorgeous facilities, great customer service and hospitality, state of the art architecture and food halls. Luxury at its finest, with at least a couple Michelin Restaurant in both malls.
5. Chatuchak Market- is the BEST market in Bangkok. It only really opens up for the weekend (fri,sat,sun), it's a heaven for souvenir shopping, food stalls, street food, authentic Thai food, and night life.
6. Chinatown- Bangkok has the world's biggest Chinatown in the world! So many rows of stalls and street food choices. All the smells, visuals, colors, and spices. It's a foodie heaven! Bangkok is known to have the cheapest Michelin restaurants in the world. A great way to taste the best of what Bangkok has to offer!
Tips:
1. Be wary of getting overcharged by vendors, specifically popular tourist locations will charge 3x MORE than other spots. You can find good deals on FOOD, SOUVENIRS, HANDMADE PRODUCTS, THAI PRODUCTS by negotiating and researching the best prices amongst the malls/markets.
2. TukTuk drivers can sometimes lure you away for a longer tour to show you around for no extra charge to bring you to wholesale souvenir stores/warehouses, and boat tour ports that are often very over priced. Although they do this in no means of harm, they are trying to add in additional service, hospitality in hopes that tourists spend money at either of the locations they offer to show them around they will receive a commission.
3. For visitors in the summer! There is a strict dress code. Wear or bring along a shoulder covering shirt and long pants to ankles when visiting temples. They will not allow you to enter unless you have proper dress code.
4. Get some BHAT exchanged and bring it around everywhere. It's the best way to make transactions at markets and for street vendors/food.
5. Not everyone speaks proper/fluent English, so do not expect for people to be able to fully converse and understand your questions/concerns/etc. Try to learn important/daily phrases and words to show respect.
6. After exploring Bangkok I have found that the most affordable, handmade, original, and eclectic products I've found were at Sampheng Market and Chatuchak Weekend Market. Definitely a lot to bring back home, and perfect to find gifts at!
7. I would say ranging from what your budget is you'd spend anywhere from $20 per person for a whole day's worth of food (on the low end of the spectrum), to $56 per person for a whole day's worth of food to have a Michelin star meal (twice in one day!) and a whole day's worth of "food" includes the price of : coffee, dessert, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks.
8. Thailand is a tropical paradise! Make sure you try all the different kinds of exotic fruits they have to offer at fractions of the price they are sold at in countries like Korea/Japan, America, Europe, etc. Some of the fruits I've personally tried and recommend are 1.) mangosteen 2.) mango 3.) guava 4.) jack fruit 5.) durian 6.) starfruit 7.) dragonfruit 8.) papaya
