This Radio Relay International training class introduces emergency communications volunteers to the requirements for effective portable and field operations. Of particular importance are the factors that differentiate casual portable operation from field operations conducted in association with a disaster operation. This class will prove useful for both individual radio amateurs who may find themselves providing services for their local community or a small volunteer organization active in disaster response as well as those affiliated with organizations integrated into the NIMS process.
