First Time Visit To The Midland Railway Centre! Pacers, Narrow Gauge, Model Railways & So Much More!

Today we visit the Midland Railway Centre situated in Ripley. The main station at Swanwick junction boasts a number of exhibits and attractions throughout the site having something for everyone. Class 142 & 141 Pacer units were in service on the day along with the Simplex diesel shunter running up and down the Golden Valley narrow gauge railway on site.
As well as the two railways other highlights of the site included the Swanwick model railway club having 00 gauge layouts both outside and inside the club house, Fork Truck power house boasting a number of vintage vehicles, Stationary power house with a number of station engines from different eras, G scale model railway society in action on their layout with a number of G scale trains running and so so much more...

Overall a very impressive site filled with so much railway history and exhibits for everyone to enjoy and if you haven't visited yourself, this is one to definitely put at the top of your list!
