On day 7, we took on the formidable Gokyo Ri, not only for its breathtaking panoramic views but also for essential acclimatization. This peak is a test of both physical and mental endurance, and the reward is a vista of the entire Gokyo Valley and the stunning Himalayan peaks that surround it.

Day 8 led us from Gokyo to Thangnak, also known as Dragnak, a place with a mystical charm all its own. Along the way, we encountered the awe-inspiring Ngozumpa Glacier, one of the largest glaciers in the Himalayas. The unique terrain and ice formations make this leg of the journey an adventure unto itself.

However, the highlight of this part of the trek was undoubtedly day 9. It marked the start of our Chola Pass adventure, one of the most challenging yet rewarding sections of the entire journey. We crossed the breathtaking Chola Glacier, with its crevasses and ice formations, before reaching the stunning Chola Pass. The sense of achievement and the raw beauty of this natural wonder will stay with us forever as we continued on to Dzongla.
