《折桂令．中秋》以曲寄情，張養浩廉官清明，最恨官場腐敗，力主清除吏弊，以月為喻，要人間光明，邀嫦娥同飲，與月光同歌。肆意瀟灑，是天地胸懷。

Zhang Yanghao (張養浩) was one of the most representative sanqu masters of the Yuan Dynasty. Known for his integrity and compassion for the people, he lived a life of honesty and public service. Though he had already retired in his later years, he was summoned by the court to aid famine relief in Guanzhong. Aware of his old age, he still accepted the call of duty. On his journey, he gave his all to save the people—donating even his own wealth—and ultimately died from exhaustion.

The History of Yuan records: “The people of Guanzhong mourned him as they would their own parents.”

《Zhe Gui Ling · Mid-Autumn》 expresses his ideals through melody and verse. A pure-hearted official who despised corruption, Zhang Yanghao advocated for moral clarity and the cleansing of bureaucratic decay. Using the moon as a symbol of light and integrity, he invites Chang’e to share wine and song—his spirit free, his heart vast as heaven and earth.
