My Speedbag1 video is just that; the first-ever, full feature Speed Bag Training Video, designed exclusively for Professional Boxers!
"Mastering the Speed Bag" video, is all about conditioning exercises, that prepare you for sparring and true ring fighting. This instructional program, demonstrates Boxing Style speedbag combinations and variations in technique.
My Advanced Techniques section, contains over 100 combination sets; I call, "Speed Bag Forms," which combine short-range strikes with long-range strikes. The vast quantity of left hand /right hand techniques, is greatly enhanced by three speedbag punching styles, called "Three Stage Combinations." Truly, a "scientific method" of bag punching.
Mastering each new technique, demands retraining yourself much like a beginner. Totally experimental... Once you succeed, you have reached a higher level of athletic ability. This system is a continuous edification process.
Traditional guidelines (Fast Punch, Rhythm Punch, Simple Punch) are based on the Everlast Boxing / Training Guide, dating back to the 1930's and is still used today by intelligent (sport) boxing trainers.
I only use PRACTICAL conditioning exercises, that apply to "The Sport of Boxing." Always hit the Speed Bag correctly, as if you were in the boxing ring facing your opponent: Punching straight out from the shoulder. Hitting the bag flat fisted with your Knuckles ONLY; palm facing downward... No elbow strikes, No hammer strikes or "over-the-shoulder" hammer strikes, No thumb punches (rabbit punches,) NO Alan Kahn illegal tactics. "Remember," bad habits are hard to break.
Adding "Speedbag Broken-Rhythm" into your training regimen, is strongly advised. Here, you must clock the bag as it swings freely out of time, and then find an opening before restriking; just as you would against an opponent.
Stance: I recommend using a boxing stance, during speedbag workouts.
