Psychology is the academic and applied study of mental functions and human behaviors. The word itself comes from two Greek words—psyche, which means “soul”, “life,” or “mind,” and logia, which means “the study of”. Simply put, psychology is the study of the human mind.
Psychology - a social science, as well as sociology, and political science, is categorised together with humanities and arts to form acronym named HASS - Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, rebranded in the UK in 2020 as SHAPE.
