Witness the celestial spectacle of September 7, 2025’s Total Lunar Eclipse, also known as the Blood Moon, visible in its entirety from Sri Lanka, including cities like Colombo.
This rare astronomical event will begin with the penumbral phase at 8:58 PM local time, followed by the partial eclipse at 9:57 PM, reaching totality between 11:00 PM and 11:41 PM, culminating in a maximum eclipse at 11:41 PM. The entire eclipse will last approximately 5 hours and 27 minutes, with total immersion in Earth’s shadow—the most dramatic phase lasting about 82 minutes.
Often referred to as a Blood Moon, this event transforms the full Corn Moon into a glowing red orb due to sunlight refracted through Earth's atmosphere.
