For generations, Black farmers in this country have fought tooth and nail, not just to hold on to their land but to be treated fairly by the very system that's supposed to support them.
Now, history is repeating itself.
Under the current administration, critical U-S-D-A programs, especially those aimed at helping Black and minority farmers, are being gutted. Some contracts have been frozen, funding pulled back, and entire DEI initiatives quietly scrubbed from the web.
That means farmers who had already signed agreements and counted on that funding are being left high and dry.
On Tuesday, Roland Martin spoke with someone who knows this fight all too well, John Boyd, President of the National Black Farmers Association about the Trump/MAGA attack on Black farmers and the absolute silence from Black Repbulicans.
