Do conditions during early organ development impact adult salmon?

Environmental conditions during early development in salmon embryos and larvae have an impact on the developing organs like the heart, kidney, and gills. This can later affect the health and welfare of the adult fish. The SALMOCODE project aims to discover which production conditions affect organ development and at which stages the young fish are most vulnerable to these effects, which will improve the welfare of Atlantic salmon in aquaculture.
