Educated in Pakistan, France, United States, and Britain;
Specialized in International Law and Diplomacy, and in Global Economics;
Served for forty years in the diplomatic service of Pakistan;
Ambassador to the United Nations for a dozen years, both in Geneva and in New York; Previous postings in India, Belgium, France, Soviet Union, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea; Retired as Ambassador to the UN twenty years ago in 1999;
Was immediately appointed Senior Fellow at the UN by the Secretary General;
Taught diplomats at the United Nations, and M.A. classes at several universities; Particular expertise is about multilateralism and the United Nations.
