German Grammar Explained - get to grips with German grammar with Chatterbug's very own language mastermind, Inda Härtlein.
Negation is how we say "no" or make a sentence negative, and in German, there's a little more to it than simply the word "nein"! In this episode, Inda explains the three ways to negate in German:
Nein - a simple, standalone way to say "no".
Nicht - used to negate verbs, adjectives, or entire sentences, a bit like "not"
Kein/e - used to negate nouns and essentially means “no” or “not any.”
And what about the ever-confusing word "doch"? Watch to the end to find out!
