Hello and welcome to F&S Bushcraft, in this weeks video we will be continuing on with our wickiup / tipi shelter build. When it comes to shelters and bushcraft the tipi / wickiup is pretty straight forward and easy to conceptualise, although, it is quite difficult to make and takes a lot of hours to gather the necessary materials. Those materials consist of straight poles to make the conical shape for the roof and evergreen branches from either pine trees or spruce bows to fill in the gaps and make it well insulated.
This type or style of primitive shelter building has been used by several cultures all over the world for thousands of years, most notably with the native American peoples, the word tipi is a Sioux word which translates to "used to live in" and a traditional Sioux tipi would accommodate , on average, eight to ten adults and children. So by comparison our version is very small is more of a permanent shelter.
We hope that you like and enjoy our content and if you haven't already it would help massively if you would...............
