Switch From FUJIFILM XT4 to SONY A7IV - Worth It?

I like to try out new cameras from time to time. All in the search of the perfect camera (that will never be made)

On that note both the fuji XT4 and Sony come quite close. The setup I used on my fujifilm xt4 was the fujinon 16-55 f2.8. Great setup for almost everything, and quite light weight. On the Sony A7IV I have the Sony 24-105mm f4.0 Also a great setup for almost anything and at more or less the same weight.

I never liked sonys before for 2 reasons. The menu system, and how it handles gripping it. The menus have since changed and is quite good and intuitive on the A7IV. As for handling I use a half cage which makes this better in terms of handling than the XT4 and it protects the camera as well. It also has 2 integrated tool that are magnetic (allen key and screwdriver). That makes this, in my opinion an essential accessory. Its one more thing you have to buy, sure, but it is worth it on several levels.

This is more like a first impressions video as I havent used the A7IV that much yet, but for time lapse photography it is much better. As for streetphotography I like it better as well to be honest. I have more reach both with the 24-105 lens and those extra megapixels for cropping in should I need it.

The Sony lens is slower at f4.0 than the Fuji at 2.8 but for my use, it makes little difference. I dont need f2.8 and Id rather have a lighter setup. Besides, the 24-105 f4.0 is supersharp, and a great allrounder. I use it for everything!
