This is our hike of Kinzua Bridge State Park (Pennsylvania) with the boys.
Pronounced "Kin-zew-uh" in the Seneca language, the Kinzua railroad bridge was the largest and tallest in the world when it was constructed in 1882. In 2003, the bridge was destroyed by an F-5 tornado that decimated the valley.
Exploring the debris and wreckage was pretty surreal...and definitely gave me a new respect for wind.
Viewers might notice the stream looks like tea. You may think that it is rust from all of the debris in the valley but it is not. That stream flows from nearby marshlands and the decomposing vegetation is what gives the water its unique color.
