In this episode we explore another one of Swedens largest fortresses. The fort stood ready in 1908 and had a crew of 500 men and would be self-sufficient with its own water supply, electricity and so on.
Part of Swedens gold reserve (130 tons of gold) was stored in this fort up untill 1982. The massive fortress was taken out of comission in 1992.
The fort was fitted with four 12cm guns and four 8,4 cm guns. It also had eight capon cannons for the near defense.
Tag along as we explore this once great defensive fortress and take a look at was left in the empty mountain halls.
