Ok so Free Guy follows an NPC known as Guy played by Ryan Reynolds. Guy slowly discovers that he's actually a video game character trapped inside a Grand Theft Auto Esque simulation. Whilst this seems like a very surface level action comedy, Wii soon discover that beneath the surface that the film is actually a love story between the two develops behind the systems that augment the game. In the film we meet Millie and Keys played by Jodie Comer and Joe Keery respectively. Keery actually admitted this week that he doesn't wash his hair as it cleans itself and I'm just...can celebs just stop sharing this Sh*t please. This is why I don't interview you mother f**kers.

Now these are two characters that created the world's first artificial intelligence and initially the pair developed a game called Life Itself that would allow humanity to observe that life uh...always finds a way and it would create a world for the machines to live in.

However a greedy game developer named Antwan played by Taika Waititi had other plans and he stole this algorithm, applied it to Free City as the basis for the NPCs and allowed players to come in and basically do whatever they want.

Millie has a lawsuit against Antwan and she breaks into Free City in order to attempt to find proof that Antwan stole the algorithm and this is where she comes across Guy.

Now in the movie we learn that Keys actually planted a programme in Guy that would spark up life inside the simulation and that this would be set off when he came across the love of his life. Guy was someone who was constantly searching for his soulmate and coming across this would mean that it would spark something up between the two which would have a knock on effect inside the sim. As we learn Keys actually loved Millie and he based this soul mate idea on her.

Guy passing Millie in the street sets off a chain of a events in which he breaks from his programming and begins to learn.

He offers to help Millie get what she's after but she says he's not a high enough level and as we know women, they only want you when you're level 69 or above.

Whereas Free City is pretty much a Free for all ey, Guy decides to do good and slowly he goes viral on the internet as a hero. No one realises that he's actually an NPC and everyone including Millie starts to fall in love with him.
