Kadette 86X - Ballast Tube Replacement w/ a Rectifier Diode, Zener Diode & Power Resistors

A quick look at the cabinet after stripping the old finish before reviewing the circuit changes I made to replace the defective Ballast Tube, 165R4. A 1N5408 Diode and 25W 35 Ohm Power Resistor is now being used to reduce the Tube Heater string voltages. In addition, the Type 40 Dial (Pilot) Lamp location was changed as well as adding a 40 Ohm 5W shunt Power Resistor and 6V Zener Diode to reduce the stress on the Dial Lamp during cold starts.
