OMSI 2 - Mercedes-Benz O307 (Bahnbus/Postbus)

24th of Dec - similar to last year omnibussimulator.de/forum presents us a special christmas gift - the Mercedes Benz O307 made by Perotinus. The OMSI Model represents the O 307 purchased from 1980 to 1987 with its different features.

In 1972 the two big german Intercity Bus companies Deutsche Bundesbahn (Railway) and Deutsche Bundespost (Post service) initiated the development of the Standard Intercity Bus, „Standard-Überlandbus" (StÜLB) as complement to the Standard Citybus called „VÖV-Standardbus". Beside other Bus makers the
Daimler-Benz AG developed the Type O 307. Between 1973 this model was bought by Deutsche Bundesbahn.

The Intercity Bus service in Germany was traditionally managed by the Post Company, Deutsche Bundespost. The Railway Company Deutsche Bundesbahn also operated on Intercity lines, but only on such ones, that ran parallel or as Replacement for Railway lines. Nevertheless both companies grew to be the both bigges Intercity Bus companies. In 1981 to 1984 the Bus service of Deutsche Bundespost was absorbed by Deutsche Bundesbahn.
