I headed over to the Drake Hotel for breakfast with Jay—He was fresh out of jail and already craving bacon. While we were catching up, we noticed the place was under renovation. Surprisingly, the restaurant was still open, and the food? Way better than we remembered. Apparently, prison food gives you a new appreciation for scrambled eggs.
Then things got interesting. We ended up chatting with the actual owner—a Japanese man who built the hotel and has owned it from the very start. Turns out, a lot of us vloggers had been led to believe Drake was the owner. Not quite.
We finally got the real story: Drake bailed—literally and figuratively. He ghosted on his responsibilities, left his employees high and dry, and worst of all, betrayed his two most loyal managers, Erik and Marci.
So much for the myth of “Boss Drake.” The truth is messier—and way more interesting.
