The Bienal de São Paulo, founded in 1951, is the second-longest running biennial in the world. For the 36th edition, chief curator Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung and his curatorial team created an extraordinary event — and I was proud to present my work DreamSpace among the invited artists.
#dreamspace is a guided meditation set in a future where people of African descent are fully liberated. Inside a round architectural structure designed in collaboration with the Biennial’s architectural team and Brown Gallegos architects Markus and Silvia, visitors enter futuristic resting pods to send messages of love, healing, and inevitability of liberation back to those still living in struggle.
In this video, I take you behind the scenes of the installation, share the process of bringing DreamSpace to life, and reflect on the joy of watching visitors experience the work.
✨ If you’re in São Paulo before January 11, 2026, I highly recommend spending time at the Biennial. You’ll discover artworks, performances, and public programs that you could easily explore for two days.
