What exactly was this 'wooden object' used for?

Found in the 90s in the UK, this wooden object was found with 'women's items' like fabric scraps, so was it darning tool? Maybe a pestle for cooking.

Or was a dilly? You can probably guess what we think, but to scholars agree?
