Philip Edward Island circumnavigation. Please join Brad and Wayne Jennings as they spend 4 days on a canoe trip circling Philip Edward Island in northern Georgian Bay.
Philip Edward Island is mostly Crown Land, so permits are not required for overnight camping. You must pay a parking fee if you leave your vehicle at the Chikanishing River Access Point. The fee is $14.50 per night and permits can be obtained at the George Lake park office just down the road in Killarney Provincial Park. All camping is boat access only, as there is no bridge to the mainland. Total distance around the island is about 50 kilometers more or less, depending on how much you zig-zag around the many wind-swept islands along the south shore.
