Women of the Torah

Most people were taught that in ancient Israel women had no rights, no voice, and no inheritance.
But the Torah itself tells a different story.
In Numbers 27, five daughters — Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah — stood before Moshe, the priests, and all the leaders of Israel. Their father had died with no sons, and according to tradition, his name and inheritance would have disappeared.
These women refused to let their father’s legacy die.
They stood boldly and said:
“Give us our father’s inheritance.”
And Yahuah Himself responded:
“The daughters of Zelophehad speak rightly.
You shall surely give them the inheritance.”
(Numbers 27:6–7)
This was not a rare exception.
This became Torah law — establishing the right for daughters to inherit when there are no sons, and ensuring that inheritance is preserved within the tribe.
This proves:
• Women in Torah could own land
• Their inheritance was protected
• Yahuah Himself honored righteous women
The world says women were silenced.
The Scriptures show daughters of courage, wisdom, and covenant loyalty.
May we remember their names.
May we continue their boldness.
May we return to the ancient paths.
