Ascent of the Grand Cornier in the Pennine Alps on 30th to 31st July 2023. We were a group of 5 climbers of the Swiss Alpine Club section SAC Weissenstein. The first day involved the ascent up to the Bivouac au Col de la Dent Blanche which itself was a long alpine hike with glacier sections. On the 31st we climbed up the southwest ridge of the Grand Cornier (3962 m) which is a challenging ridge climb to reach the summit. The descent involved rock scrambling, rappel sections and glacier crossing.
