I started gardening only 5 years ago, and have spent that time learning where to place certain plants... there's a lot to be said for 'Right Plant, Right Place'.
Take a good look at your garden space, see which areas are sunny, and which are shady.
People tend to think that it's difficult to plant in shady areas, but there are plenty of beautiful plants available, even some with lovely, bright leaves to help brighten up these areas..
Now that my garden is growing in height, I have found that this season I have been under planting the canopies of these larger plants with some lovely shade loving options.
