It began as a ghost story—a shape in the deep, lost to salt and time. While free diving in remote waters, I discovered the unthinkable: a Mercedes G-Wagon AMG G63, abandoned on the ocean floor. Not just rusty, but consumed. A shell of pure corrosion, its identity erased by layers of barnacles, algae, and centuries-worth of rust. No paint, no color… just a haunting sculpture of decay.

This is the story of its return.

The mission was considered madness. To raise a car that had become part of the ecosystem. To restore what the sea had claimed. With a custom mini-submarine and a team of divers, we carefully lifted the artifact from its watery grave. What arrived in the workshop wasn't a car—it was a fossil.
