Here is a step by step showcase of how I built a 5 ft. authentic-shape lawn lighthouse. I spend my time designing lighthouses and other projects, then offer the plans for download on my website and other online venues. This particular lighthouse is one of my favorites. It is made out of eight 2 x 4's that are cut into segments, then assembled in to staggered rings. I build and sell them locally with several different color schemes like the ones at the end of the video. The natural wood color with a black top is the most popular.
I live on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Southern Maryland, so lawn lighthouses are a common sight. Some of my lighthouses have made it over to the Eastern Shore, and others found a home on historical farms. It takes me approximately 4 hours to build one of these now that I've streamlined some of the steps.
I hope you enjoy watching me build the lighthouse. If you're a fellow woodworker and are interested in some weekend project plans, please visit my site Chesapeakecrafts.com. I've posted many projects from lawn lighthouses to things like wishing wells, planters, children's furniture, and lots more. All of my woodworking plans are downloadable as PDF files and include photos at every step. The plans read like a book and are way better than blueprints.
I plan on doing more in the way of video series like this one if I get interest. Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks for viewing!
