I decided to hook up the Dialed Motion Cable Retractor to my Rep Fitness Ares 2.0 belt squat setup, and it worked just as well as I hoped!
In this reel, I showcase two ways to load the belt with weight. The first method is simply squatting down and letting the retractor take up the slack. While it’s definitely better than trying to clip in at the bottom and lift up, it still starts from the bottom position—which is the main challenge when using weight stacks.
The second method involves pulling down on the Ares connector/DM retractor to preload the weight onto me. This setup worked great, though it’ll get trickier as the weight increases!
