GBRf 66769 hauls 8th Eurostar Class 373 (3009/3010) out of St Pancras Intl for Scrapping - 19/01/18

Video: The eighth Eurostar Class 373 TGV TMST scrap move via rail in the UK with GBRf Class 66 (66769) hauling 3009 & 3010 out of London St Pancras International to Kingsbury EMR. A little update from the last video, this unit may actually be the 9th, 10th or 11th to get scrapped due to confirmation of other sets being stored in France (e.g. 3017/3018 and 3102's rake of coaches stored in the woods, 3101's rake of coaches were scrapped by road apparently and their respective power cars are in the Doncaster and Birmingham High Speed Rail Colleges). So now its getting harder to track them all sadly, however this was the 8th UK withdrawal.
Once again I made sure I caught all of 3009's & 3010's last moments on their own power until the Class 66 arrived to take them and the pantographs were dropped permanently. This unit was withdrawn very, very recently as I included a little tribute clip of the last time I saw it in service which only dated back to December 2017! So the unit looked fairly fresh, healthy and not worn out.

Lastly, with the Ashford Spur Project now under way at Ashford Intl station (a move that will pretty much kill off any remaining classic 373s stopping at Ashford on Paris/Brussels routes to replace them with 374s completely) is set to finish this April, which means a lot more scrap moves are due sadly and this will likely sideline the refurbished 373s to only the Disneyland and South of France routes. Please note this is speculation, but there is truth to it.
