The Orthodox Christian Studies Center of Fordham University is pleased to present the 2025 Lenten Orthodox Scholars Preach series, featuring short sermons by leading Orthodox Christian scholars.
The sermon for the Sunday of St. John Climacus is given by Dina M. Zingaro, a dual degree candidate at Harvard Law School and Harvard Divinity School with a focus on women, gender, sexuality, and the body. She is in a year-long training for preaching at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. Dina began preaching in October, and her sermons can be found on her YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiRD....
Dina was awarded the Presidential Scholarship at Harvard Divinity School, which is awarded to “outstanding applicants who demonstrate a concern for and interest in public service, broadly conceived.” Before graduate school, Dina worked at CBS News for eight years, including four years as an Associate Producer and Co-Producer for 60 Minutes. She produced the 60 Minutes story about the St. Nicholas National Shrine, which aired in 2020. For her stories at CBS, Dina received multiple News Emmy nominations.
During graduate school, Dina has worked as a legal intern for GLAD, “GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders,” a leading civil rights organization which is widely recognized for its outsized impact—it brought marriage equality first to Massachusetts, and then to the nation with the 2015 Supreme Court victory in Obergefell v. Hodges. At Harvard, she is co-president of the Harvard Divinity School’s Orthodox Christian Student Community (“HDS Theosis”).
