【Johnny Lau: The Government and the society should treat “sensitive dates” with a sense of normalcy】

Current Affairs Commentator Johnny Lau noticed that the society was paying close attention to the first case of Article 23, including whether the direction, result and intensity of investigation would change after June 4. Meanwhile, he considered the government’s way of handling a crucial factor affecting public cohesion. He said that the government could relax political tensions in the society by “dilution” and “purification”, but it now gave the public a sense of “radicalization”. For example, the public found it difficult to grasp the government’s interpretation of the line between “incitement” and “mourning”. Therefore, Mr Lau suggested that the government should eliminate unnecessary collision or friction, and to perceive “sensitive dates” with a sense of normalcy.
