Key Highlights from OHKF PPI's 2020 Research

The Public Policy Institute engages top experts to delve into policy research, turning expertise and insights into public policy proposals in furtherance of Hong Kong’s overall interests and sustainable development. The Institute also works to win public support for proposals through policy advocacy thereby influencing Hong Kong’s policymaking in a full range of areas including land and housing, economic development, innovation and technology, arts and culture, healthcare, social welfare, youth education, and sustainable development. The Institute’s advocacy includes the ‘Insight Forum’ series where experts share insight on public policy issues. The Institute also leverages social media to spearhead policy proposals with evidence-based analysis from multi-dimensional perspectives to facilitate public discourse and foster social consensus.

Many of our policy recommendations were adopted into the 2020 Policy Address in a strong sign our research meets society’s needs. Furthermore, Our Hong Kong Foundation ranked 112th among more than 8,000 other think tanks in the Top Think Tanks Worldwide (US and Non-US) category of the 2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index in recognition of OHKF’s research.

This year, the Foundation will continue its globally-recognised work and also launch a series of new initiatives including a report on gerontechnology development in partnership with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. Our new initiatives will also delve into Hong Kong-Shenzhen technological cooperation and digital finance, allocation of medical resources, improving primary medical care services, and Greater Bay Area medical services as well as green finance and education system research.
