Gerald, Randy, and Arnold Rissman founded Tiger Electronics in 1978. They started out by making phonographs, but soon realized their passion was creating electronic toys.
Tiger Electronics quickly became a household name thanks to their innovative and affordable products. They were the first to market with a talking computer, a barcode reader, and a handheld gaming system. They also created some of the most popular toys of all time, including the Furby, the Talkboy, and the R-Zone.
In 1998, Tiger Electronics was acquired by Hasbro for $335 million. The company continued to operate under the Tiger Electronics brand until 2007, when it was merged with Hasbro's Playskool division.
The Rissman brothers are now retired, but their legacy lives on. Tiger Electronics helped to shape the way we think about and interact with technology. Their products brought joy to millions of children around the world, and they continue to be cherished by collectors and nostalgia enthusiasts today.
