Here's a little clip I made of Inbound Forces back in the day, one of the only pieces of Classic Sonic content for Overclocked that was substantially developed. There was a decent push on this stage back in 2019, but progress mostly ceased after early 2020 or so; the general lack of progress or interest among anyone in working on Classic Sonic’s stages was arguably one of the primary factors leading to his complete removal from the mod.
As you’d kind of expect from an early Overclocked level, it’s very cluttered and janky, and there wasn’t much of a coherent focus in terms of gimmicks, or anything else really. Had we actually kept Classic Sonic in, there’s a decent chance this would’ve been scrapped and reworked anyway.
Narratively, this stage basically served the same purpose that City Siege had in the final mod, but with Classic Sonic helping in the battle instead of Modern, who wouldn't show up in the city until after you cleared this level.
