On November 9th 2024, our CEO and Founder, Lianna Genovese, received the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award in Louisville, Kentucky, alongside notable figures Dawne Gee, Nile Rodgers, Bryan Stevenson, and Shaquille O'Neal.
At just 19 years old, Lianna invented Guided Hands®, an award-winning assistive device that empowers individuals with limited hand mobility to write, paint, draw, and access technology. With a degree in Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University, she turned her prototype—created for a friend with Cerebral Palsy—into a global innovation. Today, at 24, Lianna has led ImaginAble Solutions to impact lives in 24 countries worldwide.
During her speech, Lianna shared a powerful message: "Self-expression is beautiful and also a human right, one that should be accessible to everyone. I believe Muhammad Ali would agree." Guided Hands® improves quality of life for children and adults with disabilities by promoting self-expression, communication, and the development of sensory motor skills.
Following her speech, Lianna and her team surprised Shaquille O'Neil with a custom 3D-printed "Shaq-size" Guided Hands® - and it fit perfectly!
That same night, ImaginAble Solutions launched the Guided Hands® Sponsorship Program, allowing the community to gift a Guided Hands® to families in need, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to assistive technology.
